This message is for those people who are receiving the Social Security pension from the government of the U.S.Your Social Security benefits will increase by 3.2 percent in 2008, because of a rise in the cost living. It is not much but like they say it is better than nothing. Next year you will get more than this year. Good luck to you all.

My family is originally from Hamrun, Malta, My father brought us all here, 10 children. His army duty was finished in 1962. so he brought us here for a better future, now his family is 29 grandchildren, and 24 greatgrandchildren and still going. We are proud to be Maltese and proud of our father for his sacriface of living his birth place. He loved Malta, he lost his brother in the war. He always told us to speack Maltese and even my younger sister who was six months old speaks Maltese. He did not want us to forget our Heritage. My only wish is that the politician in Malta remembers him for his sacriface he did and the duty he did for the mALTESE PEOPLE. thank you for letting me say my peace. Good Luck with your website.

It has been an atrocious decision that MEPA have just recently made to grant permits for the building of 23 villas overlooking Ramla Bay where the decrepit Ulysses Lodge at presently stands. Now if Ramla is to be exploited and raped by greedy land developers nowhere on Gozo is safe. I urge all concerned citizens to complain to their representaive in Parliament and have them first disband MEPA and also have that permit revoked.. Can anyone imagine the stench in Ramla once the sewage pipes start to leak in that soft clay and when the cesspool overflows or the pumps fail what it would be like by those lovely restaurants down there? I would hate to think what it would be like by my favorite restaurant in Malta, the Kcina tar-Ramla.. So please make every effort to stip this insanity..Leave no stone unturned to stop this madness.. KEEP RAMLA the way God created it..

I am a frequent visitor to Gozo and especially to Nadur where i come and stay, thanks to my uncle and aunt, who lend me their house in the San Blas area. I love Gozo more than the island i live on. Dear Gozitans, isn't it time you stand up and say no to more development on your lovely island. I've been coming to Gozo for more than 35 years and i can say that Gozo as it was at those days, is something out of this world. But still today we maltese love to come to your island because it's still far different and much more quiet than Malta. When your island will be like ours, who would like to come over?? So please don't let this Ramla development go ahead. Also, you must stand against all development in Hondoq ir-Rummien. I know that most people of Qala and Nadur enjoy that lovely tourqoise sea, and i enjoy seeing you preparing all those BBQ's in the evening. Protect your lovely island. We maltese come because it's different; when it becomes like Malta, we will come no more, unfortunately. So please think of future generations. sign the petition on www.saveramla.com Thanks

Very well done Angelo! I totally agree with you..some people only argue and when u ask for help they dont do anything..it is really so sad..
if we all unite together and fight for what is ours we get what we want I believe but it seems that who wants to destroy our land is always on top of us.

Where are the people of Nadur? Don't you think that Ramla l-Hamra belongs to us all? The Xaghra people are united against the development on their side (Villas) and we Nadurin are totally silent against the huge cemetery on the Nadur side on the way to Ramla! I can't understand why some people are in favour of destroying more pristine land.

What a shame. If the Ramla Bay projects proceed, Ramla as we know will be gone forever. It's such a shame that future generations do not know what it actually looked like unless they look at our picture albums. I wish more people posted here to show their disapproval of this insensitive decision to our Gozitan heritage. What do we want here, another MArsaforn, Mgarr or Xlendi Bay. Enough already.
