Ta' Sopu Tower restored [29/09/05]

The Nadur Local Council has just finished restoring the Ta' Sopu Tower, overlooking Dahlet Qorrot Bay. The Local Council has recently announced that the Malta Environment and Planning Authority (MEPA) will be donating Lm10,000 so that the public could have better access to the tower. Meanwhile, the Local Council is inviting all those companies and individuals who might have proposals as how the tower could be best used to attract tourists, to hand in their proposals by October 18th. Nadur Youngsters retain Indy Cup [21/09/05]

Nadur Youngsters won the Independence Cup for the second consecutive year and the eighth time in their history following a close victory over Kercem Ajax. The match, played on September 21st, was worthy of a final as it was contested by two teams who are strongly fancied to challenge for the Division One title this season. The Youngsters grabbed the lead after 14 minutes thanks to Alex Ribic from the penalty spot. Kercem made it 1-1 on the 34th minute. On the stroke of half-time, Joseph Portelli scored what proved to be the Youngsters’ decisive goal. After the match, Nadur's stand-in captain Kevin Buttigieg, who was playing his last match for the Youngsters before moving abroad, was presented with the Independence Cup trophy by Vincent Grech, from the Ministry for Gozo. Il-Hbieb Isejhu bl-Istejjer 4 published [18/09/05]

Preca Library has just published Il-Hbieb Isejhu bl-Istejjer 4 - the fourth collection of 500 short stories, previously published on the monthly magazine Il-Hbieb Isejhu, which is also available online. The book is dedicated to Fr Michael Attard, who passed away on July 30th, 2004, and who helped Nadur's MUSEUM (boys) branch in no small way. Il-Hbieb Isejhu bl-Istejjer 4 is available from Malta's leading bookshops and from Nadur's MUSEUM Centre.

Nadur Youngsters launch website [15/09/05]

To the delight of all Nadurin around the world, Nadur Youngsters FC launched its official website at naduryoungsters.com. The website includes the latest club news, fixtures, league chart, photos and an in-depth history section. The Youngsters' website was launched on September 15th during a special evening during which Club President Karistu Camilleri handed a special gift to Club benefactors Charles Camilleri, Sammy Grech, Joseph Portelli and Dr Chris Said as a sign of appreciation.

9/11: four years later [11/09/05]

Every one of the thousands of people who were killed on 9/11 has left behind a legacy in their friends and families. For the millions who bear witness to their memory, life will never be the same. September 11th 2001 was a day that changed America and the world forever. Nadur, having hundreds of its people residing in New York, watched in horror and prayed.
