Nadur
Youngsters retain Indy Cup [21/09/05]
Nadur
Youngsters won the Independence Cup for the second consecutive year
and the eighth time in their history following a close victory over
Kercem Ajax. The match, played on September 21st, was worthy of a
final as it was contested by two teams who are strongly fancied to
challenge for the Division One title this season. The Youngsters
grabbed the lead after 14 minutes thanks to Alex Ribic from the
penalty spot. Kercem made it 1-1 on the 34th minute. On the stroke
of half-time, Joseph Portelli scored what proved to be the
Youngsters’ decisive goal. After the match, Nadur's stand-in captain
Kevin Buttigieg, who was playing his last match for the Youngsters
before moving abroad, was presented with the Independence Cup trophy
by Vincent Grech, from the Ministry for Gozo.

[11/09/05]
Every
one of the thousands of people who were killed on 9/11 has left
behind a legacy in their friends and families. For the millions who
bear witness to their memory, life will never be the same. September
11th 2001 was a day that changed America and the world forever. Nadur,
having hundreds of its people residing in New York, watched in
horror and prayed. Today, four years afterwards, we still remember.
