Naduri appointed Papal chaplain [30/10/04]

Gozo Bishop Nikol Cauchi recently announced that Pope John Paul II has appointed Canon Paul Meilak as papal chaplain with the title of monsignor. Canon Meilak was born in Nadur on February 14, 1925, and was ordained on March 19, 1952. He received his education and priestly formation at the Minor Seminary, where he spent a few years teaching and the Major Seminary where he was prefect for the same time. He also worked at the administration offices of the Diocesan Curia. Currently he is the spiritual director at the Franciscan Sisters Convent in Nadur.
