Nadur carnival attracts record crowd [10/02/05]

This year's Nadur carnival, held over last weekend, attracted a record crowd, the Local Council said. It was the weekend in which the highest number of Maltese and tourists crossed over to Gozo to enjoy the revelry, the Council added, citing Gozo Channel figures. Meanwhile, the Nadur Local Council is working on the organisation of the XXV convention of the Federation of European Carnival Cities, scheduled for the end of May and the beginning of June in Nadur. The convention is attracting about 600 people - carnival organisers from around the world - to Gozo for eight days. As part of the activity, an organised carnival is being held on May 29 and a spontaneous carnival on June 3 and 4.
