Classic
Wine Festival draws the crowds
[31/08/03]
The
Delicata Classic Wine Festival, held for the first time in
Gozo, attracted hundreds of people. The two-day festival was
organised by Delicata in collaboration with the Nadur Local Council
at the Fatima Street Gardens. Attractions
included an audio-visual presentation of modern viticultural and
wine-making techniques practised by Emmanuel Delicata and al fresco
dining with spectacular views of Malta, Comino and the Ghajnsielem
feast. Delicata's two new wines, Dolcino Bianco and Dolcino Rose,
could also be sampled by those who had an official wine festival
glass. Pierre Cordina and Mireille Bonello hosted a four-hour
entertainment show on both evenings.

Commemorating
special events and occasions
[27/08/03]
All
the people around the world commemorate special occasions and
events. The United Nations has declared the year 2003 as the
International Year of Fresh Water. With a number of fertile valleys,
where fresh water was
once
so
abundant, Nadur is also marking Water
Year 2003. June29th.com is launching a new section to commemorate
events, to mark special anniversaries and to honour people who have
in some way enriched Nadur's history. Naduri Anton Said is
coordinating the project. Click here for the first commemorative
e-card.

Wine
Festival comes to Gozo's viticulture heart
[23/08/03]
Following
the huge success of the Delicata Classic Wine Festival in Valletta,
this unique 'not to be missed' event is being held for the first
time in Nadur on August 30th and 31st from 1900 CET till late.
Entrance is free, although visitors wishing to taste the vast range
of free wines on show will need to purchase a Lm3.00 official
Festival glass, which will be theirs to keep as a souvenir. As you
walk between the various stalls you will be able to taste and
compare the numerous grape varieties grown in Malta and Gozo and
savour Maltese gastronomic delicacies which have been specifically
chosen to complement the wines. Live entertainment will also be laid
on throughout the two evenings, as well as fireworks and
re-enactment of the ancient art of grape crushing. The event is
being organised by Delicata in collaboration with the Nadur
Local Council.

Tough
luck for new web phone; vandals strike again
[11/08/03]
Just
a few days after being installed for the first time in Nadur, the
web phone at St Peter and St Paul Square was found covered with
glue. The Nadur Local Council deplored the vandal attack and urged
the local residents to help the Council track those responsible,
most probably children. The web phone enabled all residents to
browse the internet in a most convenient way. This was the latest of
a string of vandal attacks which took place in Nadur over the past
weeks.
