Nadur
entrance re-built & ready to be embellished
[27/08/02] Entering
Nadur has never been so smooth! The construction works at Rabat
Road, leading Nadur to Gozo capital Victoria, are now
in their final phases. Ta'
Xhajma has been open to traffic since mid-June after it
had been closed for weeks due to extensive infrastructural works.
"The works
kicked off in October and will cost
around Lm120,000," a Gozo Ministry official told june29th.com.
"A 200-metre long retaining
wall was built along the road which in certain areas was over four storeys deep since the
road was built on clay."
The project also
included the setting up of a drainage pump which will be used by
residents living at Ta' Kenuna. The next phase of the
project will include the embellishment of the road which ought to be
ready by the end of September.

New
altar for the MUSEUM boys Centre [27/08/02] The
latest addition to the
MUSEUM (boys) branch's multi- purpose hall is a magnificent new
altar. The altar, designed by Joe
Camilleri, is made up of wood, metal and glass. Work was carried out
by Lino Curmi, Raymond and
Peter Farrugia, Michael Vella and Charlie Camilleri. The altar was inaugurated during the annual
MUSEUM Week held in August. Ex-Mayor
Eucharist Camilleri paid all expenses as a living memory of his
parents.
The MUSEUM hall
went through a major face-lift during the last two years with the
installation of state-of-the-art sound equipment, modern stage props
and redecoration. Nadur Architect Carmelo Borg MP was responsible
for the new design.

name is Bond. James Bond. And he was in Nadur on Wednesday 21st!
Yes! He was taken all the way down Ramla Bay to admire Gozo's
natural beauty from over Ulysses Lodge. The Scottish actor is
currently in Gozo on the set of his latest movie. Connery
is starring as Allan Quatermain in the action film "The League
of Extraordinary Gentlemen".
Filming was done in the picturesque Xlendi Bay and at Gozo's Sports

played a key role in the Youngsters' squad as they dominated Gozo's
Premier League last year.
