Buttigieg I think that deals with the opening of stores and shops and not with building of houses etc. Just to regulate the amount of shops in the centre. FOr example in Nadur there cannot be another pharmacy in the square, unless the existent one closes. That is the concept of hierarcy, if i'm not mistaken.
The Malta Environment and Planning Authority (MEPA) has received 773 submissions on a number of wide-ranging issues following the publication of the Gozo and Comino Local Plan last year.As regards commerce and industry, the plan is introducing the concept of a hierarchy of town centres with Victoria having a primary town centre and two neighbourhood centres while Ghajnsielem, Xaghra and Nadur have a tertiary town centre. What does this mean? Can the Council explain what does this mean? Does this mean that no sort of developing can take place in the centre of the town?
Noel Vassallo Cup, Super Cup, GFA CUP will all be played soon. Don't count chickens before they hatch. We need to struggle hard to make this season a memorable one. I hope there will be our President to collect those cups.

Lovely site. I left Nadur in 1965 with my father Tony Camilleri. First we lived for 5 years in Sliema and the nmoved to the UK (Bristville, out London). Have never been back to Gozo but this website is making me very home sick, especially the photos. Keep it up. Excellent work.

Nice win. I hope there was the President to collect the cup as the victory came about mainly because of him and the amount of money he gave the club. If all the clubs did not spend a cent, we sould still have won it. But with other clubs ready to spend thousands, we showed we have money too and got the player like Bizu.

Great Web Site. Will be visiting Nadur in JULY with my daughter as she wants to see the school where her grandad was Head Master in during the early 1960's. I enjoyed the various pictures on this site and am looking foward to taste the "Special" Nadur pizza. Hope I can find out where its' made.... Keep up the good work.
This site wasn't the same without the guestbook but I know you were forced to shut the guestbook down as irresponsible messages posted on it were creating a lot of trouble for many people. So I think you did right and should be congratulated for being responsible enough.

It is a pity reading all this about our Club at a time when everyone should be happy celebrating the 7th Championship! I encourage all true Nadur Youngsters Supporters to unit, and support Players, Committee and Sponsors. Every club has problems and big problems sometimes even big clubs like Man United, Inter, etc, etc but these problems are INTERNAL MATTERS to be discussed in the club's committee room not on a guestbook. I am not from Nadur by birth but I have been living in Nadur for 20 years and for 20yrs I have been the club's doctor and always helped the Club and Nadur. Honestly I feel down when I see these things happening up here. WE SHOULD LOOK AT THINGS FROM THE POSITIVE SIDE AND UNIT NOT CREATE PROBLEMS. My last appeal goes to my friend JOSEPH PORTELLI. Congratulations to Nadur Youngsters on their winning their 7th League title. A well deserved win with the best players and best team spirit on the island. Congratulations also for winning the Freedom Cup. May I also congratulate the Youth Nursery, headed by Joe Portelli and ably assisted by Eucharist Hili, for a good 4th position in the under-12 league and winning the under-14 and under-16 championships! Last Sunday,in the Joe Portelli Projects Under-16 Knockout vs Xaghra, the team had a nice win with goals by Charles Hili and Patrick Falzon (2-1). It shows that our club is not only catering for the First Team but also from the under-8's upwards. The under-21 team also has a chance of winning their league. Let us keep focused on the good things that are happening in our club and for the sake of our club let's celebrate on Sunday with a win against Xewkija. And then we'll keep playing and winning in the other three competitions. Thanks to all those involved in making our club the best organized club in Gozo.
Congratulations go to Karol Mifsud, an under-12 player with Nadur Youngsters, who participated in a Maltese selection that went to Rome as guests of Lazio F.C. It was a great honour for our club that as the only Gozitan chosen by the Lazio coaches to take part in this tournament. Whilst on this three day visit Karol met the Lazio players at their training ground at Formello and played in an exhibition game at the Olympic Stadium in Rome. The group also saw the match Lazio vs Perugia and visited various landmarks in Rome including the Vatican. Karol has been coached for the last five years by our Nursery Manager Joe Portelli. He should serve as an example to other youths for his dedication to football and also shows the great interest our club has in our youths. Good Luck Karol!!

I love this site and come to it almost religiously everyday to experience a little peice of nadur. I am just dissapointed that people cannot really express themselves without the fear of being audited. Yes it is true that accusations without concrete evidence is wrong especially on this guestbook. Please keep us all informed so that rumors do not get blown out of proportion. Freedom of speach is our inherent right even in a country like malta. Please stop chopping up posts. Its unfair !

A few comments on Ramla Bay. First and foremost it was always a part of Nadur. And when the confini were made, the Nadur Local Council should have threatened to resign as it was not fair on the Nadurin to have Ramla taken away from us. Nadur was one of the biggest places in Gozo. Now, with the new confini we are half the size we were.

congratulations to all who contribute to this sight. I was in Nadur March /03 visiting my cousin. Very picturesque clean little town. Keep up the good work.
Margie I just want to correct you on one thing. The statue is in Nadur. Il wied is further outwards. The statue was made by nadurians as well. Also when this statue was built the Vittorja Band was invited to play for the occasion but they declined to. At that time they choosed the Xaghra Band because the nadur band wasn't formed yet.
Anyway the same story goes to the St Joseph statue which it was taken over by qala not a long time ago... This will arise the point that who drawed the boundaries was a stupid maltese amature who thinks that he know it all. (Maybe from Birkirkara!!!)

A lot of fighting has been done so that Ramla becomes part of Nadur. We had signed a petition, protested in front of authorities but konfini are made in a second and amended in a century. It was clear. Ramla is between xaghra and Nadur. From the Madonna Statue to Nadur makes part of Nadur and from Madonna statue to Xaghra makes part of Xaghra. Even il-wied ends just here. So it is clear enough. Even my child can point that out!
What a shame that the one and only wonders of Gozo, Ramla Bay, is not considered as part of Nadur. Naduri should be fighting left and right to ensure that Ramla Bay is one again part of Nadur. Let's not kid ourselves, Ramla Bay is a true gem compared to the barren rocks of Dahlet Qorrot and the little Sandy beach of San Blass. A Real shame because most Naduri do go to Ramla.

Dear Mr.Bugeja from Birkirkara, Gozitans are not known for amateurism, everything we do on this little Island is generally done to best of our abilities. We mayend up in silly bickering( Nadur vs Ghajnsielem /vice-versa) but in the end we are all Gozitans, we enjoy each other festa's etc.
It`s a shame that our two beaches do not have a public convinience, it`s a good sign that in the year 2003 we have a public convinience in Dahlet Qorrot , perhaps that by 2010 we will build one in San Blas, or there you can do your convinience directly in the water ???? That`s another problem with water waste which in my opinion is polluting both beaches - Dahlet Qorrot & San Blas. Maybe one day my sons will have the opportunity to swim in our two beautiful beaches.

wow!fantastic site, a very nice way for Maltese people living abroad to keep up with the news back home. I left Malta in 1973. I dont know what the hell you are talking about!!! To begin the working on the public convenience in Dahhlet qorrot in winter is crazy. Especially in bad weather where you need a rain coat over there. I think that this is the ideal time to begin it and i dont think that the whole project is going to take more than 3 months!! They should have started etiher late in the year or during the winter months but someday it has to be done so it's better to start now than during the summer months. I have a suggestion for all those interested. I travelled a lot and in many places, especially in small towns, I always found a group called Voluntary Professionals. For example doctors, clerks, teachers, lawyers, architects and other professionals would get involved in a voluntary group and offer a few hours every week free of charge to the people of the locality. There surely must be someone coordinating it. Usually it is either the parish or red cross but there's not red cross in nadur. Anyway, that was just a suggestion. This website is a really great job. Thanks to whoever contributes to it.

I would like to suggest a guide book about Nadur with its history as other localities already made. This idea should be picked up by the Local Council and I am sure that a book about Nadur in English will be very useful to many tourists who visit Nadur and its wonderful beaches. It will also serve to promote our village abroad. The book can also be translated in other languages. Local Council please note!
