:: MEMORABLE SEASON

Sprightly
Youngsters win Super Cup!
[28/05/03]
After
winning the Freedom Cup, the Gozo Championship and the Noel Vassallo
Cup, a dynamic Nadur Youngsters claimed the Super Cup on Wednesday!
Xewkija Tigers, eager to close their season in a decent way, opened the
score in the first minutes. They even managed to defend their one-goal
lead for the first half of the match. Then things got brighter for the
whites. Chris Camilleri (51st) levelled the score and Edoardo do
Nascimento (63rd) established the Youngsters-lead. The Youngsters could
have made them 3-1 towards the end of the match but Anthony Portelli
wasn’t lucky enough when the ball crashed against the post. The whites
kept the lead even with nine players on pitch, after Manuel Muscat and
Chris Camilleri were shown the red card. Click here

The
whites will be wrapping up a memorable season next Sunday with the GFA
Cup final against Ghajnsielem.
Whites
win Noel Vassallo Cup
[25/05/03]
The
newly-crowned Gozo Champions Nadur Youngsters seem to be determined not
to leave anything behind! A victory against Zebbug Rovers on Sunday was
no easy task. In fact 120 minutes were not enough for the whites to
snatch the Noel Vassallo Cup as the Gozo Stadium scoreboard was still
reading a 2-2 score. The whites went two goals ahead in the first 30
minutes with goals by Edoardo do Nascimento (23rd) and Chris Camilleri
(30th). Yet the Rovers surprised the crowd with two goals in the first
15 minutes of the second half.
Teddie
Bajada's boys combined graft with craft to dominate considerable swathes
of possession against an eager Rovers side. A final match sealed with
penalty shoot-outs (8-7) may have been a cruel blow to Zebbug Rovers,
but it definitely rewarded the most enterprising team. Click here

There
are two more important final games ahead as the whites will be
facing Xewkija Tigers for the Super Cup on May 28th and Ghajnsielem FC
for the GFA Cup on June 1st.
We
did it again! Nadur celebrates a special SEVEN!

Gozo
Champions
Nadur Youngsters wrapped up their championship commitments on Sunday
beating Xewkija Tigers with three goals. Anthony Portelli broke the ice
on the 55th minute, paving the way for another goal by captain Mario
Bonello ten minutes afterwards. Edoardo do Nascimento (Bizu) made them
three on the 81st minute. Championships are there to be won and
victories are meant to be celebrated. The Youngsters mathematically did
the first a few days ago, however they are doing the latter in style
right now! The Championship Cup was taken round Gozo in a celebration-carcade,
before arriving home.

Youngsters
slam Blacks and claim Freedom Cup [31/03/03]
It
was a fatiguing task for Ghajnsielem FC to try and stop a dynamic Nadur
Youngsters from winning their second consecutive Freedom Cup. The two
Gozo-league challengers gave it all out on Monday, March 31st, with the
Youngsters deservedly claiming the Cup with a 3-0 slam.
An
enterprising Anthony Portelli gave all supporters a deserved
sigh-of-relief by opening the score on the 42nd minute. Then, to cheer
up the crowd, Nadur-Australian Immanuel Muscat doubled the score with a
radiant shot on the 10th minute of the second half. Another Portelli-signed
goal on the 37th minute wrapped up the score, giving all Nadurin a very
good reason to celebrate and look forward for more. Click here
